Community Fund Allocation Event plus update of new projects and the member survey

ECOE Community Fund Allocation Event plus updates of new projects and the members survey 2017/2018

Following a great Community Fund Allocation Event on Tues 16th January at 18.30, awards were made for the full amounts to all three applicants.

Congratulations to:

Wonford Community and learning Centre who received £996 for a new display that will provide information about their ECOE community-owned solar installation.

Pinhoe Road Baptist Church who received £1275 for replacement LED lighting in one of their large meeting rooms.

Music in Devon who received £2000 for a solar sound system and you can view Tom’s presentation here.

All three applicants will be keeping us informed of their progress and updates will be added.

During the second part of the evening news of ECOE’S new project and findings from the Members Event were presented.

The Trews Weir Hydro project is progressing, the feasibility report shows there is a viable project here and it looks as if the community fiance model will work too. We’ve had meetings with the Environment Agency and begun to talk to river users to hear their concerns and find ways to address them. Hertha’s presentation is here.

The Healthy Homes for Wellbeing project was launched in November and ECOE’s energy advisors are attending clinics, giving talks, providing LEAP home visits and offering frontline worker training to organisations and community groups. For more information see Gill’s presentation.

There was also a fascinating report of the findings of the members survey carried out in Sept 2017. See Patrick’s presentation for more information.

Thanks to Sonya for use of the meeting room and refreshements for the event.
