July Projects Update

Solar PV1

We continue to progress our rooftop PV project Solar PV1, working through contacts we obtained from a roof survey commissioned earlier in the year. Our project management team and a group of dedicated volunteers getting in touch with a wide range of community organisations, charities and local businesses and hopefully we’ll be able to convert these leads into projects soon!

With a heads of terms agreement already signed, we are now working with Wonford Community and Learning Association to progress a full lease and power purchase agreement. In order to do this we are helping them to source free legal support to help them interpret and sign off the legal documents. We have also recently re-visited Shillingford Organics to investigate other possibilities at their site, following structural issues with the original roofs.

Ground Mount

Solstice Renewables, who have offered ECOE joint ownership of a proposed 9MW solar farm near Exeter airport, are now waiting to hear the results of a planning appeal that we attended in early June. We’re negotiating heads of terms with them and SidEnergy who will be our partners. If they are granted planning permission we will consult closely with our supporters and the local community to confirm our involvement and decide what shape it should take.

We have also recently met with Pipers’ Farm on the outskirts of Exeter where it may be possible to install a small ground mounted solar array to supply their needs. We’ll keep you updated.
