Thanks to the big impact we have in our community, some very talented people continue to volunteer to be ECOE directors. When they join us, we like to introduce you to keep you up to date. Our latest directorial recruit is James Rowan. Now, read on to find all about him.
What is your role at ECOE?
I have joined the ECOE team as Operations and Maintenance Director supporting the management of existing projects and looking at new opportunities.
What is your background?
I am a Chartered Energy Engineer. Throughout my career as both a consultant and embedded within organisations I have worked across a wide range of energy and sustainability sectors. I currently work for South West Water. There, I help to deliver renewable energy projects relating to the organisation’s net zero ambitions.
What motivated you to join ECOE?
When it comes to community energy, I am a big supporter in both raising awareness and empowering communities to take control of local energy supplies. I have been fortunate to work with other community energy groups in my career. So, I am excited to support ECOE with their plans.
What should members and supporters talk to you about if they bump into you?
I am lucky to live on the edge of Dartmoor, so spend lots of time exploring the Devon landscape with my young family. When I can spare some time I am also a keen runner and cyclist.
