We love the summer. So many opportunities to get out in the sunshine, enjoy the company of our friends and neighbours and find out more about the amazing things people in our community get up to.
ECOE Directors Sonya Bedford and Joe Smee will be at Off Grid Festival in Wiltshire, 15-17 August. Sonya is speaking about renewable energy in the Off Grid College on Friday morning, while Joe is performing with ceilidh band Cut A Shine on Sunday.
On 30 August we’ve got a stall at the Exeter Green Fair on Cathedral Green, 10.00-16.00. It’s the city’s biggest forum for green ideas and environmental community action, so it’s a great place to find out about what’s happening and how community energy fits into the picture.
The St Thomas Community Festival is returning for its second jamboree of music, food, art and community. We’ll be there on 13 September, 12-6pm at St Thomas Pleasure ground to talk to people about our projects and how they can save money on their bills.
This is also a great excuse to have a dance and eat a falafel or two.
ECOE Executive Chair Gill Wyatt will be one of the guest speakers at The Element in the Room, where Regen SW poet in residence Matt Harvey will be performing material from his new illustrated book and giving out free copies. Gabriel Wondrausch of Sungift Solar is also speaking. See here for more details. This event is part of the Community Energy Fortnight.
