Radhika Moran, ECOE’s new finance director

ECOE creates not only the future of clean energy in Exeter, but also a different vision of doing business, as a central part of our local community. As such, when we get a new director, we let everyone know. Today, we’re delighted to introduce our new finance director, Radhika Moran. Read on to find out more about her!

What is your background?

I’m an ACCA-qualified finance professional with an international background. My career has taken me across the UK, UAE, Europe, and the Middle East. Along the way, I’ve worked in industries ranging from insurance technology and software-as-a-service to healthcare, aviation, and consultancy. Most of my experience is in management accounting and financial operations, supporting businesses with reporting, budgeting, process improvements, and keeping the finance side of things running smoothly. I genuinely enjoy bringing order to messy processes. Working in different countries and cultures has taught me a lot about collaboration, adaptability, and the importance of good coffee in fast-paced environments.

What motivated you to join ECOE?

I have been an electric vehicle and green tech geek since university and wanted to do my bit to combat climate change. One of the key mechanisms that will unlock reductions in greenhouse gas emissions is the move to renewable energy sources. Decentralising energy generation will also put more power in the hands of the consumer to decrease the impact of their own activities. The green revolution is going to support local organisations and individuals to drive down their energy costs and their impact. I wanted to support people to make that change in my part of the world.

What should members and supporters talk to you about if they bump into you?

I really am an EV and green tech geek so I am always keen to have conversations about that! I have been an EV driver for many years so if you want to know anything about owning an EV I am always happy to talk. I used to play rugby and have been a rugby fan for years. Although I haven’t had as much time as I would like to follow it recently, I am an Exeter Chiefs and England fan. I also try to keep up with football. As I was born in Wolverhampton I should be a Wolves fan, but I was brought up on Manchester United so they are my team. I am always happy to talk about software and technology, after all that is what I spend most of my working days thinking about! Last but not least, my wife is a wildlife gardener and she has led me to develop a passion for birdwatching, wildlife and nature so I always love to talk about that too.
