ECOE is launching an open share offer so that new members can join, something that hasn’t been possible since our original share offer closed in 2015.
We intend to use all the new share capital to:
- Develop, install and operate new solar PV installations, when suitable sites have been identified
- Replace capital returned to current members who need to leave.
We received funding to prepare this share offer when we had a potential new solar site lined up. That site fell through, but we felt that we should take advantage of the funding to make it easier for new members to join and replace existing members who want to leave. It will also be easier for us to ramp up the offering quickly when we do find a new site.
As such, we will be very careful in how much new investment we accept. It may be that we limit new members to the minimum investment of £25 for under 25s, £50 for over 25s living in Exeter, East Devon and Teignbridge, and £250 for people older than 25 in other areas, unless a large number of existing members ask to withdraw their shares.
