Solar PV1 Update: December 2015
As you will know, ECOE launched our first Community Share Offer last month, aiming to raise the funds required to complete all planned installations that form Solar PV1. To all our surprise, we managed to raise an incredible £390,000 in under 3 weeks, an immense achievement given the timescales involved…
Two installations are now in place at Shillingford and Wonford with a further two roofs due to be installed over December.
- At Shillingford Organics, Sol Electrical Ltd successfully installed 40kw of solar across two roofs, which is now generating electricity. The installations are powering both ‘Shillingford Organics ‘and ‘Rod & Bens Soups‘. Remote monitoring has been set up and it’s very exciting to see how much electricity is being generated through each day.
- Wonford Community & Learning Centre has had 20kw successfully installed and commissioned by Hyde Park electrical Ltd. The electricity being generated is feeding in to the overall electricity supply of the community centre.
- December will see ECOE install further solar on the roofs of Devon County Councils ‘Great Moor House’ and Exeter Central Library. Both are due to be installed before Christmas and all leases have now been signed. Everyone is working hard to get these installations done within the tight timescale set by the Feed-In Tariff depression deadline.
- The rest of Solar PV1s planned installations will take place over the first quarter of 2016, subject to leases, PPAs and other legal agreements.
