Members News

Several of you have been asking about the EIS certificates. Its recommended to wait to apply for EIS tax certificates until all of the investment has been spent. We expect this to be the case by the end of August so we’ll be approaching HMRC for your tax certificates in September.

We’ve been sending emails to all of our members checking your information and asking about whether you want an EIS tax certificate, we haven’t heard back from everybody we know, so if you haven’t already told us, get in touch

We will check with you all again and hopefully by September we will have the new database set up and that will give you the opportunity to login and update your own profile using a secure password.

Trip to visit installations

During the AGM, you asked about this possibility and we thought what a good idea. We’re talking to the owners of a couple of the installations to arrange this.

What we’d like to know from you if whether an evening, lunchtime or at the weekend is best for you. Please let us know asap as we want this event to be part of the Community Energy Weekend 3-19th September and we will need to finalise dates early next week.

If we choose a weekend, we could visit two of ECOE’s installation in the morning, and those who wanted, could have a shared picnic and then go on and visit an Anaerobic Digester site close to Exeter in the afternoon.

Let us know what you’d prefer.

Fundraising for Ugandan Solar Schools

We’ve heard from 10:10 about a project where Liss Primary School in the UK has raised £1000 to install solar panels on Karfuro Primary School in Uganda.

Are you interested in fundraising for this? If ECOE partnered with Stephens Scown and SunGift, that would only be £333 from each of us per school. Let us know if you think this is a great idea.
