Hopefully you’ve read posts introducing you to the ECOE team before. We like to keep you up to date on the new faces to you so that you don’t wonder who they are when you meet them. Today we introduce Emma Sueref.
What is your role at ECOE?
I have joined the ECOE team as a director, working on retrofit, Healthy Homes for Wellbeing and equality, diversity and inclusion.
What is your background?
I have a BSc in Environmental Science and a MSc in Environmental Consultancy at Plymouth University. Straight after my MSc I joined the construction industry. I took on various business development, new business and land roles before moving back into sustainability. Since then, I have undertaken various project management qualifications, the UK Green Building Council Future Leaders course. I am currently undergoing my Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors’ Assessment of Professional Competence. I have a keen interest in the broader sustainability agenda, including social value, mental health and wellbeing, diversity and inclusion in addition to carbon reduction and waste reduction.
What motivated you to join ECOE?
Firstly, I am passionate about sustainability, carbon reduction and wellbeing – all of which are integral to ECOE. I have lived in Devon since 2012. Joining ECOE lets me be part of a local organisation that enables real people to make choices about their homes, their energy usage and their carbon footprint.
What should members and supporters talk to you about if they bump into you?
I am a big reader and I’m obsessed with dogs, so those two topics are safe bets with me. I will also never turn down a cup of tea and enjoy being outdoors, especially on Dartmoor. I’m a big champion for Mental Health and am a mental health first aider, so I’m also always open to talk, if that moment should ever be needed.
