Ionna Trofimova-Elliott, ECOE’s new finance director
Hopefully you’ve read posts introducing you to the ECOE team before. We like to keep you up to date on the new faces to you so that you don’t wonder who they are when you meet them. Today we introduce Ionna Trofimova-Elliot, our new finance director.
What is your role at ECOE?
My responsibility is to assure that the entity lives within its means and spends its resources efficiently.
What is your background?
I am a technical person, an engineer by background. Having excelled in mechanical studies early in my life, I found all other business disciplines easy. It helped me to work in various industries and exciting projects internationally. I bring over 20 years of experience leading finance and strategy departments in engineering, real estate, energy, and other sectors. Thanks to engineering I was able to re-focus my diverse knowledge to energy transformation, also a topic of my academic research at the University of Exeter.
What motivated you to join ECOE?
Nature on this planet is diverse in its beauty and uses. We humans have a simple duty – to preserve it, which is the reason I joined this board.
What should members and supporters talk to you about if they bump into you?
Anything that interests you today, I am curious about many things. I have two children – my daughter and my son. Also, I like kite surfing, which is like a third child! I am very proud of each of them, the basis of my daily discussion. Then, my work is my passion, on which I can spend time endlessly.
I am an active human. If not reading, I can usually be found doing various things outdoors. I learned in physics that ‘energy generates energy,’ thus I spend my energy without reserve. This helps me to have a vibrant and energetic life with just a little of the time I have. Please speak to me on any subject of your interest, I will be honoured to share that conversation.
