Project and Funding Updates for Referrers September 2021

As well as Exeter , we also cover and Mid Devon, East Devon, Teignbridge and Torbay. We currently have 8 Home Energy Advisors (HEAs) and an in house benefits advisor.

LEAP (Local Energy Advice Partnership) continues this year. We are the dedicated partners for the LEAP service across our entire region, and this enables us to provide bespoke advice during FREE home energy advice calls and home visits to qualifying residents.  www.applyforleap.org.uk

ECO (Energy Company Obligation) is the funding that helps to improve the energy efficiency of homes. ECO provides funding to install measures such as loft or cavity wall insulation, or replacement boilers, which improve the ability of low income and vulnerable households to heat their homes.  Please continue to refer clients to us who may need grant funded help to make home improvements to heating and insulation. We will do our best to find the right funding for them.

ECHO is another funding scheme that has just restarted for this year. ECHO provides funding in what’s called a ‘No Heat’ situation, when mains gas boilers are broken or beyond economical repair. This service is for homeowners only.

Drop-in Energy Advice Clinics

Many of our regular drop-in advice clinics were suspended last year. We are glad to report that we are slowly rebuilding a portfolio of regular clinics. We are also attending a lot of adhoc events as communities begin to get back to normal. Keep checking our clinic and event page for up to date information.

At our clinics we offer free impartial advice and energy saving tips, can help with tariff and supplier switching on the spot, help residents apply for warm home discount, and register for the Priority Services Register. We’ll also book them in for a free LEAP home energy visit if they are eligible.
